What we can do for you
How we price our services
Most small producers and home owners do not always know the weight or volume of their
For hard top fruits we basically price our services by volume using
the standard milk crate.
For grapes this is not a practical arrangement
as grape bunches do not roll down a fruit ramp for easy filling into our MCs.
by the owner in containers of known volume are not a problem.
We simply convert the
volume to the equivalent of MCs.
For those with table grapes you can freeze the
berries, when thawed out they seem to press more juice.
We have a number of ways
to solve the problem of unknown weight or volume.
and de-stem into a calibrated vessel. Pulp volume is then read off as MCs (recommended).
If known, divide wt of grapes in lbs by 36 - this converts directly to MCs.
If known, divide wt of grapes in kgs by16.4 - this converts directly to MCs. .
Convert known volume of fruit to MCs as follows:-
Liter volumes are divided by 24.6 to obtain MCs
US Gal volumes are divided by 6.5 to obtain MCs
Imp Gal volumes are divided by 5.4 to obtain MCs
YOU DO NOT HAVE TO SEPARATE
GRAPES FROM THE STEMS, WE HAVE A MACHINE THAT DOES THAT AUTOMATICALLY.
To crush & de-stem grapes, we charge $5.00 per standard 36 lb box. = 1 MC = 24.6 Lts = 0.7 bushels (no minimum order).
To crush, de-stem & press grapes in one visit, we charge $7.50 per MC. Min order 4.0 MCs whole grapes.
To press fermented grape pulp only, we charge $ 5.00 per 5 Imp Gal pail. Min order 2.0 pails of pulp, fully drained.
We can process smaller quantities of grapes by packing the press with spent dry apple pulp
Please don't be put off by the above, it's simpler than it reads !!
